From 1 July 2025, Western Australian households will be eligible for a battery rebate of up to $5,000, making it significantly more affordable to invest in solar energy storage. If you’re considering adding a battery to your solar system, now is the ideal time to begin planning.
What is the Rebate?
The WA Government is offering up to 20,000 rebates for residential battery installations:
- Synergy customers (up to 19,000): $500 per kWh (up to 10kWh) — up to $5,000
Interest-Free Loans!
There will also be a number of no-interest loans for low to mid-income households of up to $10,000 through the new rebate scheme.
These rebates apply to new, additional, or replacement batteries, with the rebate amount determined by the battery’s size.
Federal Labor has also announced plans to introduce a national battery rebate if elected, which could stack on top of the WA Government’s offer, potentially making your solar batteries even more affordable.
DISCLAIMER: Only systems installed on or after 1 July 2025 are eligible. Installations prior to this date will not qualify.
Why Act Now?
Even though installations must occur on or after 1 July 2025, we strongly recommend buying your battery early due to expected supply constraints. Many customers are already placing their orders to secure stock and schedule installation after the rebate begins.
With high demand expected, we anticipate limited battery stock and a shortage of skilled installers, so securing your system early is the best way to avoid delays.
