Is the Tesla Powerwall 2 still available for purchase?
The Powerwall 2 is being phased out, and no new units are being produced. If you’re looking to expand an existing system, some limited stock may be available, but Tesla’s focus is now on the Powerwall 3.
What happens if I already own a Powerwall 2?
Tesla will continue to support Powerwall 2 owners with software updates, warranty coverage, and ongoing maintenance. However, new Powerwall 2 units will not be available once current stock runs out.
Is Powerwall 2 compatible with Powerwall 3?
No, the Powerwall 2 and Powerwall 3 are not compatible and cannot be used together in the same system. If you are expanding your solar storage, you may need to transition to the Powerwall 3 for future upgrades.
Can I still install a Powerwall 2?
If stock is available, you can still install a Powerwall 2. However, since Tesla has ceased production, it’s recommended that the Powerwall 3 be considered as a longer-term solution.
